I spent hours tracing every route so you don’t have to. There are seven Firstlight weapon schematics in Slayers 2. They sit in underwater mazes, behind a boss fight, and at the end of long NPC quest chains. Most players waste time because the clues are scattered, so here are all seven locations in one table. Full steps follow below.

Before You Start

  • Get a Shovel (1,000 Wen). You need it for the Tanto and War Fans.
  • Set your spawn to Iceveil Settlement. It saves a long walk back if you die in the caves.
  • Bring an Emberheart Lantern, because the snow damages your health over time.
  • War Fans requires Level 100+.

Firstlight Spear and Katana Schematics (Iceveil Valley)

Both are in the same underwater maze, so grab them in one trip. I’d also pick up the Nightfall Scythe schematic while you’re down there. Check our Slayers 2 Nightfall weapons guide for that one.

  1. Go to the Wind Trainer’s platform in Iceveil Valley and jump into the water below it.
  2. Dive until you see a statue. Swim behind it and drop through the opening into the maze.

Spear route: From the drop point, go straight, take the first left, and keep going until you hit a brown rock. Turn right and continue straight to the schematic.

Katana route: From the drop point, go straight, take the first left, then the next left. Go straight, take the first right, and turn left at the brown rock. Continue straight to the schematic.

Firstlight Insect Katana Schematic (Mistfall Harbor)

  1. Go to the Insect Boss spawn area in Mistfall Harbor.
  2. Find the large tree log that forms a bridge over the lake.
  3. Walk onto the log, jump in, and dive to the hole at the bottom.
  4. Fall through and follow the passage. The schematic is encased in ice at the end.

Firstlight Sound Cleavers Schematic (Duelist Hibiki)

Hibiki is deep inside the cave where the Reaper Trainer Kuzan mini-boss spawns.

  1. From the mini-boss spawn, go behind it and take the left path.
  2. At the fork, go left. Then take the next left, a right, and another left.
  3. Cross the parkour section on your right. Falling on the spikes kills you.
  4. After it, go right, then left, then right again, and continue straight.
  5. Talk to Duelist Hibiki, win the fight, and the schematic is yours.

Firstlight Tanto Schematic (Old Trapper Retsu)

Requirements: a Shovel, and your lantern unequipped before you talk to Retsu.

  1. Find Old Trapper Retsu at the torii gate at the Iceveil Valley entrance.
  2. Choose the “Lantern on your Belt” dialogue and pay 2,500 Wen.
  3. In the Kuzan cave, step on the glowing blue mushrooms until the Mushroom Lit Lantern appears. Equip it.
  4. Leave the cave briefly and heal at a campfire.
  5. Return and follow the blue footprints to a snow pile.
  6. Dig with your Shovel and open the chest.

Firstlight War Fans Schematic (Iceveil Settlement)

This is the longest quest chain, so prepare everything first.

  1. Get 9 Cooked Bear Meat. Kill Bear Cubs and Mama Bear in Bamboo Grove, then bring the Raw Meat to Lucy at Windy Peak. Each turn-in gives 3.
  2. Buy 25 Health Elixirs from Alchemist Meku at the Mistfall Harbor docks (50 Demon Horns + 8,750 Wen).
  3. Talk to Iceveil Guard Shiro and put the meat and elixirs in the cart behind him. This opens Iceveil Settlement.
  4. Buy the Shovel from Winter Store Rep Lynx.
  5. Do at least one quest for Shiori at Butterfly Estate.
  6. Finish all of Dockmaster Sofen’s quests at Mistfall Harbor, then talk to him again.
  7. Talk to Old Trapper Retsu with the “Lantern on your Belt” option and keep going past the payment.
  8. Return to Lynx for the final hint.
  9. Dig the snow pile near the houses at the top of Iceveil Settlement.

Firstlight Bladed Wagasa Schematic (Windy Peak)

You need three things: the Firstlight Mask equipped, a Damascus Bladed Wagasa in your inventory, and a finished boulder challenge.

  1. Get the Mask schematic. Go to Hidden Mist Village, find the Tai Chi Trainer Suzume mini-boss spot, climb the tower-like rock behind it, and jump into the opening.
  2. Craft and equip the Mask with Blacksmith Togane. It costs 1,000,000 Wen plus materials.
  3. Get the Bladed Wagasa. It drops from Fujiko, and the drop rate is very low. Upgrade it to the Damascus Bladed Wagasa.
  4. Push the boulder at Windy Peak along the white arrows to the summit.
  5. Talk to Wagasa Maker Genzo, who appears by a tree on your left. With only the base Wagasa, he refuses you.

Human Slayers can complete this too. The Damascus Wagasa is the only gate.

Best Order to Collect Them

  1. Iceveil Valley run: Spear, Katana, and Nightfall Scythe in one dive.
  2. Kuzan cave: Hibiki (Sound Cleavers), then Retsu’s Tanto chain, since both use the same cave.
  3. Mistfall Harbor: Insect Katana, plus Sofen’s quests for the War Fans chain.
  4. War Fans and Bladed Wagasa last, because they take the most prep.

How to Craft Firstlight Weapons and Their Stats?

Take your schematic and materials to Blacksmith Togane in Hidden Mist Village. All seven weapons are Mythic. Every weapon gives +4 Additional DMG and +5 Max Stamina.

WeaponDMG FactorBlock PointsBlock RegenBonus
Katana1.15x+6.92.66xNone
Insect Katana1.15x+3.952.13x1.12x Move Speed, 1.1x Stamina Regen

Bladed Wagasa1.148x+7.952.8xSun Immunity

Pro tip: Collect all seven weapon schematics, then talk to Togane. This reportedly unlocks the Firstlight Top and Bottom schematics, which are the first of the five Firstlight accessories.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Wearing a lantern for the Tanto quest. Unequip it first.
  • Approaching Genzo with the base Wagasa. It must be Damascus.
  • Skipping Shiori or Sofen quests. The War Fans chain won’t progress.
  • Rushing the Hibiki parkour. One fall onto the spikes sends you back to spawn.
