The Ram has smashed Happy the Halloween Guy to pieces in 99 Nights in the Forest, and you’re the one who has to rebuild him. The Helping Happy event launched October 3. You recover six body parts, carry them to Happy’s stake at camp, then take his head back from the Ram. Finish it and you pick one run-only reward. Earn three badges and you also unlock Happy’s Cart furniture. Here’s everything at a glance.

Helping Happy Event in 99 Nights in the Forest

How to Start the Event?

You don’t need a menu quest. Happy’s stake sits next to your campfire, with his pumpkin head and Happy’s Scythe beside it. Interact with Happy to hear what happened, then grab the Scythe before you leave camp.

I wouldn’t skip it. The Scythe cuts the webs blocking the barn and stone building entrances. It starts with damage close to the Spear, levels up as you hit wolves and cobwebs, and caps at three levels.

One detail most guides skip: clearing cobwebs spawns a random item. That can be ammo, morsels, or even a Cultist, so keep your weapon ready before you swing.

All 6 Happy’s Body Parts Locations

The structures spawn at random spots each run, so there are no fixed coordinates. Keep expanding your campfire and exploring. Pieces glow when you’re close, and a few sit near mini-boss encounters. Here’s where each one is:

  • Left Leg: Inside the Halloween Barn. Cut through the entrance webs with the Scythe.
  • Right Leg: Inside the Halloween Windmill. Search the structure.
  • Left Arm: Inside the Halloween Stone Building. Clear any webs in your way.
  • Right Arm: Held by an Alpha Wolf. Kill it and the arm drops.
  • Hat: Worn by a Cultist. Defeat it to take the hat.
  • Torso: At the Pumpkin Farm, trapped under a cart. Load eight pumpkins onto the cart to free it.

How to Rebuild Happy?

You can’t store pieces in your inventory. Carry each one back to Happy’s stake by hand, one at a time. Each piece snaps onto his body automatically.

The event usually takes several nights, so gather wood and food between trips. Treating it as a pure scavenger hunt is how runs fall apart.

How to Get Happy’s Head from the Ram

Once all six parts are on, the Ram returns and knocks Happy’s head off. Wait until night and find it. Then lure the Ram into something solid, such as a large tree or a stone structure. When it crashes, the head comes loose.

Pick it up and place it on Happy to complete the event. The Ram charges hard but turns poorly, so sidestep rather than sprint in a straight line.

Helping Happy Rewards

After you rebuild Happy, you choose one reward:

  • Vampire Cloak: Reduces incoming damage and fills a bar at night. A full bar heals you.
  • Bouncing Blade: A thrown weapon that bounces to a second nearby enemy and builds a life-steal bar.
  • Laser Cannon: Close-range area blast that drains most of your alien energy per shot.

These last only for the current run. I’d take the Bouncing Blade for group fights and the Vampire Cloak for solo night survival.

You also earn three badges. Collect all of them to unlock Happy’s Cart furniture.

BadgeRequirement
ReapingLevel Happy’s Scythe to its maximum level
StrawcraftHelp your team reassemble Happy
SweepingDestroy 200 webs with Happy’s Scythe

Reaping and Sweeping both depend on the Scythe, so I’d cut every web I find instead of walking around it. If you need free resources first, check the latest [INTERNAL LINK 1: 99 Nights in the Forest codes].

Best Order to Run the Event

  1. Grab the Scythe and talk to Happy.
  2. Expand your campfire radius and explore for the Halloween structures.
  3. Cut every web on the way. It levels the Scythe and counts toward Sweeping.
  4. Grab the easy parts first: Right Leg (windmill) and the Torso (pumpkin farm).
  5. Take the Alpha Wolf and Cultist while the Scythe is leveled and your health is full.
  6. Rebuild Happy, wait for night, and lure the Ram.

Common Mistakes and Pro Tips

  • Skipping the Scythe: You won’t reach the barn or stone building parts without it.
  • Ignoring survival: Wood, food, and a lit fire matter more than speed.
  • Fighting the Ram head-on: Use a tree or stone structure to do the work for you.
  • Waiting too long: This is a limited-time event. The next Halloween update is scheduled for October 18, so the Helping Happy badges and Happy’s Cart may not stay available.

FAQs

Do Happy’s body parts spawn in fixed locations?

No. Each part sits in a specific structure or enemy drop, but the structures appear in random places every run. Expand your map and explore.

Where do I find Happy’s Scythe?

It sits right next to Happy’s stake near the campfire. Pick it up before you head out.

Can I complete Helping Happy solo?

Probably, since no specific class is required. But Strawcraft is worded around your team, so co-op is easier. I couldn’t confirm a solo workaround.

Can I keep the Vampire Cloak, Bouncing Blade, or Laser Cannon?

No. These rewards last only for the current run, and you can pick just one.
