Sprite Extraction Sites are the only fixed spots on Crossbones Isle where you can bank the Sprites you find in Fortnite Treasure Hunters — and there are just eight of them on the whole 2026 mini-season map. Portable Extractors are scarce, so learning these eight fixtures is the difference between keeping a rare drop and feeding it to the lobby. I’ve dropped at every one since update v43.00 went live on November 1, and below you’ll get all eight locations in a quick-reference table, the exact extraction steps, and what the on-site Sprite Dust Services terminal sells. Keep the table handy if you’re chasing the Week 2 quest that pays 20,000 XP for extracting three Sprites in one match.

Where to Find All 8 Extraction Sites in Fortnite Treasure Hunters?

Unlike Portable Extractors, Extraction Sites are permanent fixtures on the island — you can reuse one after a short cooldown, all season long. The catch? With only eight spread across 12 POIs, you’ll need to cover ground. Every site also houses a Sprite Dust Services terminal, so they double as service stops. Here’s where I’ve found them:

LocationSitesIsland PositionLandmarks Nearby
Between The Chest and Loot Lagoon1Desert coastlineDocked pirate ship, tents
Between Lantern Landing and Windmill Village2Southwestern cornerPartys Bar, windmills
Plunder Port1South sideFishstick and Tex Flamingo’s docked ships
Between Lantern Landing and Cursed Cavern2Central-eastCenote ruins, wrecked ships
Between Fortune’s Fort and The .. Rocky2Northeast to east coastA$AP Rocky’s battleship

One accuracy note, because I keep seeing guides get it wrong: the final pair sits between Fortune’s Fort (the pirate town in the northeast that Lil Uzi Vert’s crew takes over after the opening week) and The

.. Rocky — not “Fortune’s Plunder,” a POI that doesn’t exist on this map.

Spotting a site is easy once you’re close: look for a tall beacon of light visible from about 50 meters away. It glows red before the first storm circle forms, then turns blue afterward — which is also when the extraction screen and terminal come online for the match.

I’d pair every extraction run with looting. Buried Sprite Chests from Wanted Poster treasure maps, Sprite Chests and regular chests can all pop Sprites, so sweep them along the route and extract everything in one trip instead of crossing the island twice. Also note the gaps: there are no sites inside Busy Bay, Loguetown, Arlong Park or Rubber Resort, so if a fight breaks out there, winning it clean matters — or you’ll be burning a Portable Extractor you could’ve saved.

How to Extract Sprites at an Extraction Site?

Extraction is what turns a borrowed Sprite into a permanent entry in your Sprite collection, and this season’s 35 Sprites (13 base, 11 Fortune, 11 Cursed variants) only count once banked. Epic’s own update notes are blunt about the risk: get eliminated before you extract, and the Sprite is left on the battlefield for the next player to steal. Here’s the process I run every match:

  1. Rotate toward a site and watch for the light beacon.
  2. Interact with the giant pirate-themed pipe organ. This opens a rift and calls in the Sprite Extraction Crate, which takes roughly 45 seconds to arrive.
  3. Stand back when the crate lands — it has a knockback effect that can launch you backward across the clearing.
  4. Place your Sprite inside the crate. It stays open for about one minute and ten seconds, and that timer shortens to around ten seconds once a Sprite goes in.
  5. Collect your Sprite Dust reward, then spend it at the terminal.

When the timer expires, the crate rifts back to its own reality and your Sprite banks automatically.

Three rules worth memorizing: once a Sprite goes into the crate it can’t be removed, and it extracts safely even if you’re eliminated right after — you’ll find it waiting in your Sprite Garden. Any player can use the crate while it’s open, so defend it like loot. And if you have an Extraction Site Booster, activate it: the Boosted Extraction Crate pays double Sprite Dust per Sprite.

What You Can Buy at Sprite Dust Services

Every site’s Sprite Dust Services terminal sells three things I care about, in this order: Portable Extractors for emergency banking, weapon upgrades for mid-match power spikes, and the daily 20,000 XP token if you’re grinding the Battle Pass. A single extraction-heavy drop can fund a serious chunk of your season progress.

Pro Tips for Faster Extraction Runs

  • Chain the double sites. Lantern Landing → Windmill Village gives you two sites per rotation; Fortune’s Fort down to The .. Rocky covers two more and passes A$AP Rocky’s boss ship. Both legs stay inside early circles, which is why I run one of them almost every drop.
  • Extract early, not optimally. A banked Rare beats a Mythic left in the grass — you can always extract a second Sprite later in the same match.
  • Save Portable Extractors for emergencies. If a site is within a short walk, use it; keep the consumable for storm-closing, rare-variant situations.
  • Time it with Captain’s Days. New Sprites drop onto the map with every Captain’s Day content wave — the Cursed variants arrived with the second one — so plan farm routes around them.
  • Chase Devil Fruit alerts mid-rotation. If a Gum-Gum Fruit spawns along your route, detour — Luffy mobility makes site-to-site runs far safer.

FAQs

How many Extraction Sites are in Fortnite Treasure Hunters?

There are eight Sprite Extraction Sites on Crossbones Isle: one between The Chest and Loot Lagoon, two between Lantern Landing and Windmill Village, one in Plunder Port, two between Lantern Landing and Cursed Cavern, and two between Fortune’s Fort and The

.. Rocky.

Can you extract Sprites without an Extraction Site?

Yes. The Portable Extractor consumable banks your equipped Sprite from anywhere on the island. You earn them from Sprite quests and the Sprite Mastery reward track, or buy one with Sprite Dust at a site’s terminal. It’s consumed on use, so think twice before burning one within walking distance of a working site.

What happens if I’m eliminated before extracting?

The Sprite drops onto the battlefield for the next player to grab — it doesn’t return to your collection, and any progress you built on it during that match goes with it. Once it’s inside an Extraction Crate, though, it’s safe even if you die immediately after.

Why isn’t the Extraction Crate arriving at my site?

Three usual reasons: the site stays offline until the first storm circle forms (the beacon is red until then), the rift needs about 45 seconds to deliver the crate, or the site is briefly on cooldown after another player just used it.

Do Sprites transfer between players?

Only by dropping. Eliminate a player carrying a Sprite and it falls for you to loot, and teammates can hand Sprites over. There’s no trading menu — ownership belongs to whoever banks the extraction first.
