I’ve been farming the Spirited Away raid since the update dropped. Flame Director, also called Hu Tao and listed as Paramita Pyre in some guides, is a raid-only Lyth weapon, so you can’t summon it. A tuned solo setup clears the raid in about 3 minutes 30 seconds. Here’s the fastest way to get it.
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Source | Spirited Away raid (Nightmare only) |
| Boss | No-Face |
| Drop chance | 2% (35 pity) |
| Awakening items | Staff of Homa + Ghost |
| Guaranteed rewards | 22.4k coins, 450 gems |
| Target clear time | 3:30 or less |
How to Get Flame Director?
- Redeem codes first. NEWRAID (level 50) gives 100 Trade Rerolls, 75,000 Coins and 10,000 Gems. SORRYFORDELAY (level 25) gives 50 Trade Rerolls, 25,000 Coins and 5,000 Gems.
- Queue the Spirited Away raid on Nightmare.
- Repeat until Flame Director drops. Pity keeps building as you run.
- Collect Staff of Homa (25% drop, 5 pity) and Ghost (33% drop, 1 to 3 per drop).
- Use both items to awaken it and unlock the ultimate.
Drop rates come from Item Level Gaming. A fan hub said they weren’t published in the notes it checked, so treat them as community-reported.
Best Weapon for the Raid
I’d run Miyabi with Cataclysm for speed. Pairing Cataclysm with Lights of Divinity adds 5% cooldown reduction and 8% movement speed, and you don’t need to fully upgrade it. Sukuna (Cursed King) with Immortal Sovereign is the alternative, with a 10% damage synergy.
Cursed King, Cataclysm and Flame Director are all top raid picks. Their skills give i-frames, so you can attack through boss moves.
The October 5 patch buffed Flame Director too:
| Move | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| M1 | 21 | 30 |
| Skill 1 | 130 | 180 |
| Skill 2 | 80 | 100 |
| Skill 3 | 180 | 230 |
| Ultimate | 440 | 550 |
Best Trait and Accessory
- Best overall: Supernova gives 24% damage, 20% attack speed and 12% cooldown reduction.
- Fallbacks: Ferocity or Hunter. Sukuna runs well on Overkill because his damage comes from skills, especially Fuga, not attack speed.
- Accessory: Blast Archer Crown gives 20% damage and 7% cooldown reduction. Blast Archer Wings give 16% damage and more drop rate, which suits long farming sessions.
How to Solo the Spirited Away Raid?
- Opening rotation: Start with skill 3, then skill 2, then skill 1 to close the gap if enemies get pushed back.
- Staircase trick: After the first group, walk partway up the stairs. Upper-floor enemies jump down to you, so kill them there and repeat. This saves the time you’d spend hunting them.
- Five-wave section: Keep your ultimate ready by wave three. Fire it the moment the last wave-three enemy dies, so you hit the boss during its entrance.
- Final boss: Attack normally in phase one. In the invulnerable phase, kill the summons and wait.
- Boss clone: Around half health a second boss appears. Position so your skills hit both. When all three skills are on cooldown, use your ultimate on both.
Flame Director Title
Clear the raid as Flame Director without using your ultimate to unlock the title. It gives 15% damage, 20% health, 3.5 movement speed, 5% cooldown reduction and 5% drop rate. I’d attempt it once you’re comfortably strong, since you give up your biggest damage burst.
Common Mistakes
- Chasing enemies instead of pulling them to the stairs.
- Burning your ultimate early and having none for the boss entrance.
- Rerolling for the perfect trait while your build is unfinished.
- Judging a build on one lucky crit instead of average clear time.
Pro Tip
Pull enemies together before using AoE skills. One cooldown then hits several targets instead of one.
FAQs
Is Flame Director the same as Hu Tao?
Yes. The update log lists Hu Tao, and Flame Director is the in-game name. Some guides call it Paramita Pyre.
Can I get Flame Director from summons?
No. It’s raid-only, and normal Weapon Spins won’t work.
What difficulty is the Spirited Away raid?
Nightmare only. It ends against No-Face.
How fast can I clear the raid solo?
About 3:30 or less with a solid build. Sub-3:00 needs strong crits and good RNG.
