The Drill to Earth’s Core class tier list below ranks every class by how much it helps a full run. My S-tier picks are Executioner, Prospector, Goblin King, Gunsmith and Bounty Hunter. Gunslinger and Bruiser are the best value at 5,000 Cores. I compared five guides, then weighed starter gear, level bonuses, team perks and cost.
| Tier | Classes |
|---|---|
| S | Executioner, Prospector, Goblin King, Gunsmith, Bounty Hunter |
| A | Gunslinger, Bruiser, Priest, Samurai, Reaper, Crafter, Salvager, Lucky Looter, Demolitionist, Engineer |
| B | Pirate, Tank, Driller, Witch, Nightcrawler, Princess |
| C | Miner, Scout, Healer, Mechanic, Racer, Mercenary |
| D | Recruit |
How I Ranked the Classes?
I looked at four things:
- the starter gear
- how hard the Level 1–3 bonuses scale
- how useful the Level 4 team perk is in co-op
- how the class performs early versus late
Guides disagree a lot. Priest ranges from S to C depending on the list. So I leaned on the placements most sources agreed on and marked the split decisions below.
S Tier Classes
| Class | Cost | Why It’s S Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Executioner | 30,000 | +200% boss damage, free Drill Upgrade on boss kills (team), bosses drop Gems |
| Prospector | 30,000 | Ores auto-smelt, veins always drop 2+ items, team chance for Pristine Gems |
| Goblin King | 30,000 | Goblins sell for extra Coins, recruits add damage, up to 20 recruits |
| Gunsmith | 30,000 | Craft guns and ammo, piercing shots, team ammo gives +100% bullets |
| Bounty Hunter | 30,000 | Bigger bounty payouts, +50% gun and melee damage, dungeon bosses become bounties |
Executioner is the best pick for pushing depth, because boss kills feed straight back into your drill. Prospector is the best farmer, and its smelting perk skips a whole crafting step. Goblin King is the only S-tier class that snowballs on its own: every recruit adds damage. Both Gunsmith and Bounty Hunter are strong, but a few guides drop them to A or B, and Gunsmith’s 30,000 Core price is steep.
A Tier Classes
| Class | Cost | Standout Perk |
|---|---|---|
| Gunslinger | 5,000 | +100% gun damage, +100% fire rate, team gets +50% gun damage |
| Bruiser | 5,000 | +100% melee damage, team gets +50% melee damage |
| Priest | 30,000 | Constant HP regen, Blessed allies revive instantly |
| Samurai | 30,000 | Fast melee, high crit chance, crits chain to nearby enemies |
| Reaper | 10,000 | Soul Orbs heal, Soul Lantern aura damages enemies |
| Crafter | 10,000 | Cheaper crafting, scrap returns Coins, stronger Drill Boost |
| Salvager | 10,000 | Iron Bar drops, Scrap sells for +100% |
| Lucky Looter | 10,000 | Chests always drop 2+ items |
| Demolitionist | 10,000 | Big explosive damage, broken walls can spawn ores |
| Engineer | N/A | Starts with sentries and a flamethrower, cheaper turrets |
The 5,000-Core pair, Gunslinger and Bruiser, give the biggest early jump. Their team perks also stay useful when you play with others.
Priest is the most disputed class on this list. It’s brilliant in co-op but a poor solo buy at 30,000 Cores, so I kept it in A.
Lucky Looter is also my best pick for coin income. One guide ranks it among the top classes for deep descents.
Reaper needs patience. One guide lists 2,500 kills for Level 2 and 10,000 for Level 3. The lantern does the grinding if you park the drill by a boss wall.
I put Engineer in A because only two guides rank it, and I couldn’t confirm its price.
B Tier Classes
| Class | Cost | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Pirate | 30,000 | Gold Bars and a cannon, but expensive for an economy class |
| Tank | 5,000 | Huge HP and taunt, almost no damage |
| Driller | 5,000 | Cheaper drill upgrades, only works well as the driver |
| Witch | 3,000 | Cheap, doubled potion time, shares effects with allies |
| Nightcrawler | 10,000 | Strong in darkness, inconsistent elsewhere |
| Princess | 10,000 | Starting Coins and team money, weak solo |
Driller is the biggest split decision here. One list calls it top tier, another puts it near the bottom. I’m sitting in the middle because the discount is great for deep pushes but useless when you’re not driving.
C and D Tier Classes
- Miner (100 Cores): The best starter, since it levels while you farm iron and gold.
- Scout, Healer, Mechanic, Racer (3,000 each): Each one is too narrow. Priest replaces Healer.
- Mercenary: Outclassed on both damage and economy.
- Recruit (D tier, 100 Cores): Small bonuses that fall off early.
Best Class by Goal
- Boss damage: Executioner
- Resource farming: Prospector
- Co-op support: Priest (revives and regen)
- Budget pick: Gunslinger or Bruiser
- Deep-run drilling: Driller or Lucky Looter
How Class Unlocks Work?
Classes cost Cores, and every class in a tier costs the same:
| Tier | Cost |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 100 Cores |
| Tier 2 | 3,000 Cores |
| Tier 3 | 5,000 Cores |
| Tier 4 | 10,000 Cores |
| Tier 5 | 30,000 Cores |
The shop restocks every 12 hours, and Tier 4 and 5 classes appear less often. Leveling a class costs no extra Cores, and Level 4 is always the team bonus.
FAQs
What is the best class in Drill to Earth’s Core?
Executioner. Its +200% boss damage and free team Drill Upgrades on boss kills make it the strongest overall, and every list I checked ranks it S or A.
What is the cheapest good class?
Gunslider is the wrong spelling to search for. It’s Gunslinger, along with Bruiser, at 5,000 Cores each. Both start with +100% damage in their weapon type.
How do I get Cores?
Open chests, finish daily quests, earn achievements and break boss walls. You can also buy Cores with Robux.
How often does the Class Shop restock?
Every 12 hours. It shows a random slice of classes, so check back if the one you want isn’t there.
