You get the Boglin Branch rod in Fisch by completing the FischFright 2026: Youngster Goblin quest on Caustic Hallow — finish 3 goblin quests rated Normal or higher, hand over 10 Witch’s Ingredients, and collect a Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig, and Boglin Wraps. Turn everything in to the Youngster Goblin and the rod is yours, along with 800 Treats and 5,000 XP. It’s limited to the 2026 Halloween event with no announced end date, so I’d unlock it before it sails away. Below I cover the fastest route, full stats, the best enchants, and my worth-it verdict.

How to Complete the Youngster Goblin Quest (Fast Steps)
- Sail to Caustic Hallow. Board the Flying Dutchman on Moosewood’s east dock.
- Start the quest. From the fountain, take the middle lane, turn right at house 506, and talk to the Youngster Goblin in his alley so the objectives appear in your tracker.
- Hunt goblins. Goblin waves of 3 spawn every 5 minutes across 13 islands — the HUD banner’s Navigate button drops a marker. Green-outlined goblins only offer Easy tasks, which don’t count, so chase the non-green ones.
- Bank 10 Witch’s Ingredients. Any mix works — my full farming route is in our Witch’s Ingredients guide.
- Collect the Boglin parts. The Skull, Twig, and Wraps drop from goblin tasks at low rates — Easy challenges count too, so I take every goblin I find.
- Turn it all in once your tracker reads 3/3 quests, 10/10 ingredients, and 1/1 on each part.
One warning from my own run: ingredients burned at Beatrix’s cauldron don’t count toward this quest, so save them. Our Youngster Goblin quest walkthrough covers every challenge type.
Boglin Branch Rod Stats
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 80% |
| Luck | 180% |
| Control | 0.05 |
| Resilience | 20% |
| Max Weight | 550,000 kg |
The rod uses its own custom minigame bar and works in Caustic Hallow’s green pools, Webridden Cavern, and Vile Frightful Pools — the bait and timing for every event fish are in our FischFright 3 bestiary. Against the Doomsekkar Rod (275% Luck, -666% Resilience), the Boglin Branch is the forgiving starter option.
Boglin Mutation Passive, Explained
- Boglin mutation (25% chance): multiplies your catch’s value by 6x.
- Trap drop: every 2 seconds there’s a 25% chance a tree trunk drops on the control bar, pinning the fish for 4 seconds so it can’t leave your sweet spot.
- Goblin bonus: 10% chance to receive an extra Witch’s Ingredient from goblin challenges.
Best Enchants for Boglin Branch Rod
The rod accepts standard enchant relics, and Mystical is my pick — the extra Luck compounds with the 6x mutation for a serious money loop, and it patches the average Lure Speed. If you’d rather fix bites first, Haste makes the 80% Lure Speed feel far snappier. Don’t waste a relic on Resilience — 20% plus the trap passive already holds fish.
Is the Boglin Branch Rod Worth It?
Yes — it’s a free limited rod with a 6x money mutation, and the grind takes an evening at most. Here’s the detail competitors missed: a Boglin-mutated Mummy Mackerel is required for the Dutchman’s Blessing ritual, the gate to the Dutchman’s Rod. Mutations are random, so owning the rod that applies Boglin at 25% makes that requirement trivial instead of a lottery. The 550,000 kg cap also handles every event catch, and you get 800 Treats on turn-in — stack those with our Trick or Treat house route for event currency fast.
FAQs
Can you still get the Boglin Branch in Fisch?
Yes, it’s obtainable throughout FischFright 3. No end date is announced, but last year’s event wrapped on November 1, so treat that as your deadline.
What does the Boglin mutation do in Fisch?
It multiplies a fish’s sell value by 6x, applied at a 25% chance per catch by the Boglin Branch.
Is Boglin Branch better than the Doomsekkar Rod?
For most players, yes. The Boglin Branch is far easier to earn, has 20% Resilience, and suits grinding. Doomsekkar wins on Luck (275%) but punishes every catch.
Why aren’t my Boglin Skull, Twig, and Wraps dropping?
Drop rates are low and partly RNG. Easy goblin challenges can still drop them, so clear every goblin you see and check your inventory.
