To get the Record Breaker Rod in Fisch, talk to Tryce in the Underground Music Venue and finish Getting Started and Out of Tunes. That gives you a restricted rod. A third quest, World Tour, removes the restriction. It arrived with the Venue Encore update on October 31, 2026, and it’s a limited-time rod, so start early.
| Quest | What You Do | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Getting Started | Catch 5 Titanium Rusty Bolts, 5 Melody Iron Chunks, 5 Electrified Scrap Metal, 1 Shiny Infernal Fragment | Vinyl Bobber |
| Out of Tunes | Catch 1 Shiny Synth DJ Spinopus, 1 Cracked Treble Bass, 2 Phantom Speed Cores, 1 Shiny Sparkling Bog Skulker | Restricted Record Breaker Rod |
| World Tour | Fish Locked In for 120 seconds at 7 locations | Unrestricted Record Breaker Rod |
Before You Start
Head to the Underground Music Venue and find Tryce. If you haven’t yet, redeem the Venue Encore code TheVenueEncore, and check our latest Fisch codes for extra freebies. Gather the rods below first. Every catch is a mutation catch, so the rod you use matters as much as where you fish.
Quest 1: Getting Started
- 5 Titanium Rusty Bolts: Fish the Mineshaft with Magnet bait. Use the Titanium Rod, which has a 25% chance to apply the mutation.
- 5 Melody Iron Chunks: Fish the Mineshaft (Magnet bait helps) or use Crab Cages. Use the Stellarwave Melody Rod for an 18.8% Melody chance, or 22.4% with the Cosmic Crescendo mastery.
- 5 Electrified Scrap Metal: Catch these in the daytime in the Mineshaft, The Depths, Crystal Cove or Collapsed Ruins. Use Zeus’s Thundermaul while its Electrified State is active, for a 90% chance.
- 1 Shiny Infernal Fragment: You can’t catch this with a normal rod. Feed an Igneous Pearl to Crag-Crabs in the Scoria Mines at Scoria Reach, and each attempt has a 5% drop chance. Take the fragment to the Moosewood Appraiser during a Shiny Surge and re-appraise until it rolls Shiny.
Turn everything in to Tryce to get the Vinyl Bobber.
Quest 2: Out of Tunes
- 1 Shiny Synth DJ Spinopus: Fish Crystal Cove with Snare bait on clear spring or summer nights. Use the Stellarwave Melody Rod, which gives an 8.8% Synth chance (12.4% with the mastery). Synth can’t come from appraisal, so you need that rod. Stack Shiny odds with a Shiny Surge, Rainbow weather, or Blessed/Glittered enchantments.
- 1 Cracked Treble Bass: Fish Moosewood with Magnet bait at any time or in any weather. Use the Blazebringer Rod while Perfect Catch is active, for 5% during Ablaze I or 10% during Ablaze II. If the 67 Warriors admin event is running, you get a 16.7% Cracked chance without the Blazebringer.
- 2 Phantom Speed Cores: Fish around Sunstone Island in any weather, season or time of day. They must be caught directly, so use the Eidolon Rod, which has a 35% Phantom chance.
- 1 Shiny Sparkling Bog Skulker: Find it in Toxic Grove with Crab Cages, or use Garbage bait in rainy autumn weather. Shiny and Sparkling never overwrite each other when appraised. So you can keep re-appraising a normal Bog Skulker at Moosewood, ideally during a Shiny Surge or Night of the Luminous. Or catch one directly with a high-attribute rod like the Destiny Rod or Chrysalis.
Hand them in to receive the restricted Record Breaker Rod.
Quest 3: World Tour (Remove the Restriction)
You need the Locked In buff for this quest. Fishing with the Record Breaker triggers a vinyl-disc minigame. Press F when the white line sits inside the purple zone for 1 point. Hit the small yellow zone for a 2-point crit. Miss the whole area and your points reset. Reach 7 points to get Locked In.
Fish for 120 seconds while Locked In at each spot:
- Roslit Pond
- Moosewood Pond
- Forsaken Shores Pond
- Evertun Forest
- Ancient Isle Pond
- Snowcap Pond
- Boreal Hollow
Locked In only lasts 30 seconds after you stop fishing. My tip is to plan a route in advance and finish each location before moving on. Keep casting during travel stops so you don’t lose the buff.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using any rod for mutations. Titanium, Melody, Electrified, Synth, Cracked and Phantom each need a specific rod or condition.
- Trying to catch the Infernal Fragment. It only comes from Crag-Crab Mining.
- Letting the buff drop. Stopping for more than 30 seconds ends Locked In and wastes your World Tour timer.
- Mixing up rod names. Searches for “Day Breaker” usually mean the Record Breaker. The Dreambreaker is a different rod, from the Cultist Lair.
