The best Huss Valley abilities are Cloak for Runners and Rufus’s Leash for Chasers. Abilities are permanent Gem unlocks, so a bad first buy wastes real grinding time. I compared Beebom, TechWiser and Pro Game Guides, then built one ranking. Where they disagree, I explain why.
| Tier | Runner | Chaser |
|---|---|---|
| S | Cloak | Rufus’s Leash |
| A | Pocket Door, One Hit Shield, Inflatable Decoy | Rocket Shoes, Big Dagger |
| B | Emergency Airhorn | Bowling Ball |
| C | – | Bear Trap |
How I Ranked the Abilities?
I judged each ability on three things: how reliably it works against a decent opponent, how much Gem cost it asks for, and how easy it is to counter. Abilities are role-locked, so I ranked Runners and Chasers separately.
Runner Abilities Tier List
- Cloak (S, 1,000 Gems): You turn invisible for 3 seconds. You can still be hit, and using an item ends the effect. Use it to break line of sight on a turn, not to run through the knife.
- Pocket Door (A, 400 Gems): It places a door in front of you for 6 seconds. Chasers can smash it or go around, but it still wastes their time. It is the cheapest useful Runner ability.
- One Hit Shield (A): It blocks the next hit, but the shield lasts only 0.75 seconds. TechWiser ranks it S and Beebom ranks it B, so I split the difference. Bad timing makes it useless.
- Inflatable Decoy (A): A copy runs straight ahead for 7 seconds and pops when hit. Good players spot it quickly, but it works well in crowded lobbies.
- Emergency Airhorn (B, 1,000 Gems): It knocks nearby Chasers back. Beebom calls it S, but TechWiser and Pro Game Guides rank it low. Its short range makes it tough to land under pressure, so I side with the majority.
Chaser Abilities Tier List
- Rufus’s Leash (S, 1,200 Gems): You throw a leash up to 15 studs ahead and pull a Runner up to 6 studs toward you. It fixes the Chaser’s biggest problem, which is Runners dashing away.
- Rocket Shoes (A, 850 Gems): It dashes you forward from a standstill. It is the cheapest Chaser ability, but experienced Runners read the telegraphed dash. Beebom and TechWiser rank it S, so it is a safe early pick.
- Big Dagger (A, 900 Gems): It doubles your melee reach for your next hit, for 5 seconds. Pair it with the Leash: pull, then swing.
- Bowling Ball (B): A direct hit trips a Runner briefly, but it is easy to sidestep.
- Bear Trap (C): You toss it 10 studs ahead and it holds a Runner for only half a second. It works better against groups, but it is the weakest Chaser ability.
Huss Valley Items Tier List
Items cost Coins and are single-use. You can equip one at a time.
| Tier | Item | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Banana Peel | Trips opponents mid-run. |
| A | Adrenaline | Boosts speed to close or escape. |
| B | Rescue Kit | Revives a caught Runner, but only if Chasers are distracted. |
Best Knives
According to TechWiser, top knives like #1 Fan, Hotdog and Viper’s Fang give +0.85 movement speed, -0.85s cooldowns and a -0.35s dodge cooldown. Football and Futbol sit in A tier with smaller buffs. Many lower knives are purely cosmetic.
What to Buy First
As a Runner, I start with Pocket Door (400 Gems), then save for Cloak. As a Chaser, I take Rocket Shoes (850) first, then upgrade to the Leash (1,200). If you play both roles, Pocket Door plus the Leash covers you for 1,600 Gems. Grab Gems off the arena floor during early rounds. Crowds keep the Chaser distracted.
