Tormentor hides in a secret blue auditorium inside the Underground Music Venue, and you can only enter it during the Tropical Squall weather event. I checked the route against Beebom’s guide and the official Fisch wiki: click the Duskwire guitar beside Ken Carson, wear the Dusk title, and talk to him to start the Oppressor Rod quest from the Venue Encore update (v2.08). Here’s everything in one place for November 2026.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Location | Hidden blue auditorium, Underground Music Venue |
| Entry point | Duskwire guitar left of Ken Carson |
| Weather needed | Tropical Squall |
| Title needed | Dusk |
| Reward | Restricted Oppressor Rod |
| Unrestrict cost | 70,000,000 C$ |
How to Reach the Tormentor NPC?
- Unlock and enter the Underground Music Venue.
- Walk to the main stage and find the Ken Carson NPC.
- Spot the black guitar on his left. That’s the Duskwire Rod.
- Trigger the Tropical Squall event (more below).
- Equip your Duskwire, then click the guitar to teleport into the auditorium.
Important: I’ve seen players fail here because they forgot to equip the Duskwire first. Pop the totem, equip the rod, then click the guitar.
How to Get the Tropical Squall Event?
The guitar only works during Tropical Squall. Buy a Tropical Squall Totem for 800,000 C$ from Elder Kaido (Elder Kao) on Skycrest. His shop rotates weekly, so if the totem isn’t there, check back next week. Use the totem from your inventory to spawn the event.
How to Get the Dusk Title?
Tormentor won’t talk to you without it. You need the Duskwire’s mastery quest, Perfection of Dusk: Perfect Catch 200 fish with the Duskwire.
Don’t own a Duskwire yet? It’s a Stage 6 rod from Hollow at the Underground Music Venue. The official wiki lists it at 1,750,001 C$ and requires Level 275. Other sites quote different prices, so trust the wiki.
The Duskwire has negative weight, so enchant it with Invincible or Dune or it won’t function. Control also caps at -0.15, which makes the 200 Perfect Catches slower than usual.
How to Start the Oppressor Rod Quest?
Inside the auditorium, interact with Tormentor while wearing the Dusk title. He gives you three quests in sequence, and you return to him after each one.
Quest 1: Chaotic Resurgence
Catch the following:
- 2 Shiny Chaotic Catfish: Duskwire with Blessed or Invincible, worm bait, foggy night
- 1 Mourned Wyvern: Tidemourner Rod with Long enchant, Truffle Worm bait
- 3 Darkened Enchant Relics: Depthseeker Rod with Relic Construct companion
- 1 Chaotic Enchant Relic: Duskwire with Relic Construct companion
Quest 2: Road of Revenant Carcasses
Tormentor speaks in riddles. Each one points to a fish:
| Riddle | Catch | Best Setup |
|---|---|---|
| Monstrous victor of countless wars | Monstrous Legionnaire Lamprey | Cusk Purger Rod |
| Sturdy metal beast of worship | Titanium Leviathan | Titanium Rod, Fractured/Tryhard enchant |
| Distressed, effervescent reborn eel | Sparkling Distraught Revenant Eel | Dreambreaker Rod, Blessed/Glittered enchant |
Quest 3: Divergent Perceptions
- Distraught Veiled Charybdis: Dreambreaker Rod with Fractured/Cryogenic enchant, Luminous Larva bait
- Squalled String: Abaia’s Spite Rod, Garbage Bait, Desolate Deep
- Fallen Scylla: Fallen Rod with Shark Head bait
Hand these in and Tormentor gives you a restricted Oppressor Rod.
Oppressor Rod Stats
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 300% |
| Luck | 310% |
| Control | 0.1 |
| Resilience | 35% |
| Max Weight | Infinite |
| Progress Speed | +55% |
| Disturbance | +5 |
How to Unrestrict the Oppressor Rod?
The rod you get at first is restricted. Finish the Impermanent Distress quest:
- Catch 1 Fallen Skolopendra
- Catch an Olympian Devil with the Duskwire and no companion
- Catch 35 Legendary or Mythical Oppressed fish in Crystal Cove
- Parry 75 projectiles
Then pay Tormentor 70,000,000 C$ to unrestrict it.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Clicking the guitar without Tropical Squall active. Nothing happens.
- Wearing the wrong rod or title. You need the Duskwire equipped for the teleport and the Dusk title for dialogue.
- Using a companion on the Olympian Devil catch. It must be companion-free.
- Skipping the Duskwire enchant. Without Invincible or Dune, the rod is unusable.
Pro Tips
- Save a spot near Tormentor with a Mystic Mirror. You’ll make several round trips.
- Do Quest 1 and Quest 2 fish hunts in one session to cut down the back-and-forth.
- Start saving C$ early. Totem (800K) plus unrestrict (70M) adds up fast.
- Redeem the update code TheVenueEncore for extra rewards.
