Throw Food For Animals mutations and sizes are the two multipliers that decide whether the pet you just lured is a cash machine or chicken feed. As of November 2026 there are five mutations — Gold (1.5x), Diamond (3x), Emerald (5x), Ruby (10x) and Rainbow (20x) — and nine sizes, from Big (1.5x) up to Infinite (38x+). Each roll multiplies a pet’s sale price and its cash-per-second in your pen, and both rolls can land on the same animal. I’ve been throwing food across every biome since launch, and below you’ll find the exact chance tables, how Lucky Throws bend the odds, and the tricks I use to land rare rolls without burning Robux.
| Quick Facts | Details |
|---|---|
| Total mutations | 5 (Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Rainbow) |
| Total sizes | 9 (Big through Infinite) |
| Best mutation | Rainbow — 20x value |
| Best size | Infinite — 38x or higher |
| Best combo | Infinite + Rainbow |
| Odds on a Normal Throw | ~20.5% mutation, ~20% size |
| Odds on a Lucky Throw | Both rolls near-guaranteed |
What Are All The Mutations in Throw Food For Animals?
Mutations are special skins that multiply how much a pet sells for and how much it earns every second in your pen. As of Update 1 there are five, and any animal in any biome can roll them. Here are the exact chances and multipliers:
| Mutation | Chance (Normal Throw) | Chance (Lucky Throw) | Multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 13% | 9.5% | 1.5x |
| Diamond | 4% | 25% | 3x |
| Emerald | 2% | 29% | 5x |
| Ruby | 1% | 23% | 10x |
| Rainbow | 0.5% | 14% | 20x |
Visually, Gold coats the animal in metallic shimmer, Diamond gives it a crystal-blue sheen, Emerald turns it green, Ruby flushes it red, and Rainbow cycles prismatic colors — you can spot a keeper from across the map.
The best mutation is Rainbow. Its 20x multiplier out-earns everything else, even though it’s the rarest at 0.5% on a Normal Throw. And no, pets cannot hold two mutations — there’s no double-mutation system yet. What they can do is pair a mutation with a size, since those rolls are separate.
What Are All The Pet Sizes in Throw Food For Animals?
Sizes roll independently of mutations but work identically: bigger animal, bigger sale price, bigger income per second. Nine sizes exist right now, and the top end is where the real money hides — Infinite alone out-multiplies every mutation in the game:
| Size | Chance (Normal Throw) | Chance (Lucky Throw) | Multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Big | 15% | 21% | 1.5x |
| Large | 3.5% | 42% | 2.25x |
| Huge | 0.97% | 22% | 3.38x |
| Colossal | 0.31% | 8.49% | 5.06x |
| Gigantic | 0.12% | 3.6% | 7.59x |
| Titanic | 0.05% | 1.48% | 11.39x |
| Monstrous | 0.02% | 0.6% | 17.09x |
| Cosmic | 0.008% | 0.24% | 25.63x |
| Infinite | 0.005% | 0.16% | 38x or higher |
Don’t obsess over the micro-odds early. Big and Large cover most lucky rolls, and even a Huge still triples income. Cosmic and Infinite are lottery tickets you win through throw volume, not chasing.
How Do Mutation and Size Multipliers Stack?
Every pet rolls both traits, and they combine on the same animal — a Huge Gold Raven out-earns a plain Huge Raven every time. Pro Game Guides measures the stacking as additive, and the strongest combination possible is Infinite x Rainbow. Keep base income in mind too: traits multiply what an animal already earns, and that varies wildly — a Forest Snail makes $1 per second while the Nuclear Wasteland’s Supreme Waste Harvester pulls $410Dd across IGN’s 140-animal index. A perfect trait on a low-tier animal still loses to a mid trait on a late-biome one, so hunt the newest biomes first.
My sell rule: move anything under 3x once the pen fills, keep 5x and above, and never sell a Rainbow or Infinite — biomes now scale into quadrillions per second, and top-trait pets only get more valuable. The same multiplier logic drives similar Roblox hits; I break it down in our Steal An Egg mutations tier list and Deep Fishing mutations tier list.
How Luck Changes Mutation and Size Chances?
Here’s what most guides miss: add the published odds up and a pattern appears. Normal Throws give roughly a 20.5% chance at a mutation and a 20% chance at a size — about one in five throws gets something. Lucky Throws push both rolls close to 100%, which is why the Robux-only Lucky Throw power-up feels borderline broken.
Watch the Gold quirk, though: its odds drop from 13% to 9.5% on a Lucky Throw because Diamond, Emerald, Ruby and Rainbow crowd it out. You still get a mutation — just a rarer one.
Press the Details button while aiming to see your live odds before releasing. Luck itself comes from throw distance (the farther food flies, the higher your Luck multiplier), food tier, and boosts: Server Luck boosts run 19 Robux for 2x up to 159 Robux for 16x (15 minutes, shared with the whole server), and a Super Lucky Throw adds 100x Luck to a single throw for 7 Robux.
How to Get Rarer Mutations and Sizes Faster?
- Train before you throw. The chin-up bar raises throw power, and a perfect release adds up to 20 extra power — distance is Luck, and Luck improves every roll. Luck scales with how far food travels through the air, so a max-power lob into the next biome beats a short toss every time.
- Buy the best food you can afford. Tier matters: Banana ($150) in Forest up to Chocolate ($3.2B) in Ocean. Higher-tier food attracts rarer animals with stronger luck rolls.
- Land in the back third. Food that lands in the final third of a biome can roll the highest-ranked animals; the front third caps at the first four ranks.
- Ride other players’ boosts. When someone buys a Server Luck boost, everyone benefits — server-hop before a big session and farm for free.
- Play the anti-repeat system. Your most recent catch gets 200x lower selection weight, the one before that 2.5x lower, so chasing variety beats camping one species.
- Save Lucky Throws for event days. The weekly Admin Abuse drop (the November 7 “New Map + Admin Abuse” update adds another biome) stacks server-wide luck and stat boosts — the same playbook I cover in our Grow a Garden Admin Abuse event guide.
