To get Apollo’s Sunshot Rod in Fisch, complete Bellona’s Frenzy of War first, reach Apollo’s Song of Light (Layer 2 of Wrath of Olympus), finish 100% of its bestiary, aim all 5 mirrors at the seal, play the instruments in order (Drums, Banjo, Saxophone, Violin, Harp), light all 8 Stone Tablets during a Solar Chorus, catch the Mythic Helios Sunray, then buy the rod for 17,500,000C$ under the tree within its 5-minute spawn window.

The puzzles take most players 30–45 minutes, but Solar Chorus RNG is the real gate — I got mine in two events after joining a busy public server, and that’s my biggest tip up front.

Prerequisite: Clear Bellona’s Frenzy of War First

Apollo’s layer is locked behind Layer 1, and no, you can’t skip it. Spawn a boat at Moosewood, sail to Grand Reef, and dive into the Atlantis entrance with the Heart of Zeus equipped. Inside Bellona’s Frenzy of War, you must finish the full Layer 1 bestiary, place all 5 Bellona Swords on their stands, collect every shield fragment variant (Bloodied, Cracked, Legionnaire’s, Sunken, and Aegis — the last one is what most players miss), and grab the Royal Helmet behind the sword door. Then catch the layer’s exotic hunt fish and survive its attack minigame to shatter Bellona’s Seal. A passage opens in the center — drop down into Apollo’s Song of Light.

Step 1: Complete the Apollo’s Song of Light Bestiary

Puzzle progress doesn’t register until the bestiary is 100% done, so knock out all 12 fish early: Broken Arrow, Gleanfin Minnow, Sunscale Tetra, Beamtail Koi, Radiant Guppy, Lumen Bass, Prismfin Trout, Auric Angelfish, Dawnflare Eel, Solstice Ray, Empyrean Sunwhale, and Helios Sunray. Most bite anywhere in the layer, but the Radiant Guppy and Empyrean Sunwhale only appear during a Solar Chorus, and the Helios Sunray is the Mythic hunt fish we’ll cover in Step 5. Always cast inside the golden light beams — they protect your lure speed and luck, and every event-related catch happens inside them.

Step 2: Aim All 5 Mirrors at the Seal

Five mirrors sit around the layer, and one is positioned high up, so look up before assuming you’re done. Interact with each mirror and rotate it until it points down toward the central seal. When all five are aligned, they light up and project beams onto the seal. If even one is misaligned, the next puzzle won’t trigger, so double-check every mirror before moving on.

Step 3: Play the Instruments in the Correct Order

Scattered around the area are five instruments. Play them in this exact order: Drums → Banjo → Saxophone → Violin → Harp. There’s no error message for a wrong sequence — it just silently fails — so if nothing happens after the Harp, walk back to the Drums and restart. A short cutscene plays when the door to Apollo’s Sunshot opens, confirming you did it right.

Step 4: Light the 8 Stone Tablets During a Solar Chorus

The Solar Chorus is a server-wide event that spawns naturally while players fish in the yellow light circles — the more people fishing, the faster it appears, which is why I stick to populated servers. Once it starts, fish beside each of the 8 Stone Tablets (marked with sun icons) until they glow. While the event is active, catching 25 Legendary fish inside the light beams starts the Helios Sunray Hunt. The count is shared server-wide, saves between Solar Chorus events, and resets only if you change servers.

Step 5: Catch the Helios Sunray and Buy the Rod Fast

When the hunt begins, the Helios Sunray’s pool appears north of the main fishing area, marked yellow on your Fish Radar. Catch the Mythic Helios Sunray while the Stone Tablets are still glowing — you’ll see the message “A Helios Sunray emerges from the Light!” — and Apollo’s Sunshot spawns under the tree near the seal (around -8840, -2903, 501) for exactly 5 minutes. On public servers the rod appears for everyone, so miss the window and you’ll need another Solar Chorus: repeat Steps 4–5, since the mirrors, instruments, and bestiary stay done. Afterward, a light-beam dodge minigame opens the path to Poseidon’s layer.

The signature mechanic is the Charge Meter above your fishing bar. It fills at 1.5x speed during the day and 0.5x at night, and at 100% your catch gains +9% progress with a 40% chance to burn the fish. Burned fish receive the Sunlit mutation — a 6.8x value multiplier — and are slowed by 50% for 3 seconds, which makes brutal fights far more forgiving. It plays like Maelstrom or Cupid’s Bow, but the 150% Luck plus a 2,000,000 kg cap is what makes it a top-tier endgame grinder.

Best Enchantments for Apollo’s Sunshot Rod

For pure grinding, I run Mystical (Exalted Relic) with Overclocked — the lure speed, luck, and progress speed boosts compound beautifully with Sunlit procs. Divine is a solid stand-in if you don’t have an Exalted Relic yet.

For boss hunting, swap to Herculean for Control and Max Kg, with Controlled as the budget option. Relics are RNG-heavy this season, so see our guide on how to get all 4 new relics in Fisch before you start enchanting.

FAQs

How much does Apollo’s Sunshot cost in Fisch?

17,500,000C$, plus you must be Level 350 with the bestiary finished. The full Olympian rod set runs well over 100M C$, so start saving long before you trigger the spawn.

Why isn’t Apollo’s Sunshot spawning for me?

Three usual culprits: your bestiary isn’t 100%, the Stone Tablets aren’t glowing when you catch the Helios Sunray, or there’s no Solar Chorus active. The tablets must be lit during the catch — that’s the check most players miss.

Can I get the rod if I missed the 5-minute window?

Yes. The mirrors, instruments, and bestiary stay completed — you just repeat Steps 4–5: wait for the next Solar Chorus, catch 25 Legendaries to restart the Helios Sunray Hunt, then catch the Sunray again.

What bait should I use for the Helios Sunray?

Shiny Larva is the community favorite for its quick-catcher and lure speed bonus — the Sunray is a Mythic hunt fish, so progress speed matters more than luck. Requiem, Pinion’s Aria, or the Fabulous rod handle exotic hunts best if you own them.

Is Apollo’s Sunshot worth 17.5M C$?

For endgame players, absolutely — 150% Luck with a built-in 6.8x mutation makes it one of the best money and XP rods in Fisch. Newer players should grind cheaper rods first, since the unlock chain alone demands millions.
