The fastest way to farm XP in Anime Zero is Story Mode on Nightmare. Solo tests put it at roughly 118,800 XP per hour, as long as each run finishes in about two minutes. Story Hard is the safer fallback at about 69,500 XP per hour. I ranked every mode by XP per hour instead of XP per run, because a big payout means little if the clear drags. Here is the full ranking on the road to Level 500:

Story Hard1:472,06569,500

Solo runs, same build. Your numbers will shift with damage and clear speed.

Why XP per Hour Beats XP per Run?

Nightmare pays about nine times more XP per run than Easy (4,390 vs 489). Per hour, the gap is only about five times, because Nightmare takes longer. That is why I compare hourly rates.

Count the whole session, too. Loading screens, lobby waits and deaths all eat into your hourly rate. Check your own result screen and do the math instead of trusting my table blindly.

Nightmare vs Hard: When to Switch

Here is the number most guides skip. Nightmare’s 4,390 XP only beats Hard’s hourly rate while you clear it in under about 3 minutes 47 seconds. Past that, Hard wins.

My rule of thumb: if your last few Nightmare clears average over 3:30, or you keep dying to the boss, drop to Hard and come back after your next upgrades. A failed Nightmare run earns nothing, so a Hard run you always finish is often better.

Story Mode: Easy, Medium and Hard

  • Easy: Good for your first runs while you learn your weapon kit. Check my Anime Zero beginner guide for the starting setup.
  • Medium: Nearly double Easy’s XP for only about 15 extra seconds. Move here as soon as Easy feels comfortable.
  • Hard: About 69,500 XP per hour with runs under two minutes. This is where I would farm until Nightmare clears get quick.

Raids: Spirit’s Bathtub and Shadow Gate

Spirit’s Bathtub is close to Hard on XP (65,000 per hour), but it takes about twice as long per run. Shadow Gate is much weaker for leveling at 35,100 XP per hour. It also has only 10 attempts, which refill every three hours.

Run raids for their exclusive drops, not for levels. Raids are worth playing for the materials, with XP as a bonus.

Infinite Mode and AFK Farming

Infinite Mode has the lowest active XP rate, so don’t hand-grind it. Sources disagree on how hands-off it can be:

  • Some creators loop an Endless Waves lobby on Nightmare with auto-clickers.
  • The Anime Zero Wiki warns that Infinite rewards need you to take part and survive the wave, and that idling is unreliable.

I’d use the AFK chamber for passive resources and Infinite only when I can’t actively play. If you automate inputs, check Roblox’s rules first.

How to Clear Faster and Boost XP per Hour?

More damage means shorter clears, and shorter clears mean more XP per hour. Prioritize offense:

  1. Skill Tree: Take Attack first (it scales to +60% damage at the final node), then Critical (up to +15% crit chance). Each weapon has its own tree, so use the weapon you want to strengthen.
  2. Traits: Deadeye and Supernova are strong but extremely rare (0.01% roll chance each). Fortune is the one I’d watch: it adds +20% EXP and is far easier to land at a displayed 12.63%. Read my Anime Zero traits guide before spending rerolls.
  3. Accessories: Fill every slot (Head, Face, Neck). Blast Archer Crown is a popular Head pick.
  4. Evolve or Awaken: Unlock your weapon’s Ultimate to shorten boss fights, which is where most Nightmare time goes.
  5. Group and AoE: Pull enemies together before using area skills, and bring a high-damage team when bosses slow you down.

Level Milestones and Codes

Some codes need Level 25 or 50, so redeem them as you hit those levels. Check my Anime Zero codes list for what is active.

The top milestone is Level 500. It pays 5M Coins, 500 Trait Rerolls, 30,000 Gems, 7 Suncores, 7 Forbidden Fruits and 18 Magic Pendants.

Common XP Farming Mistakes

  • Forcing Nightmare with a weak build and dying on the boss
  • Judging modes by XP per run instead of XP per hour
  • Running raids purely for XP
  • Leaving Skill Tokens unspent
