The Enchanted Pickaxe is the best pickaxe in Break and Steal an Egg right now. It deals 250B Power per swing and costs $200Qa cash, making it the strongest tool in the game after the October 2026 update. I ranked all 20 pickaxes, from the free Wooden Pickaxe (1 Power) to the Enchanted, using three criteria: raw damage per swing, cost efficiency, and which zones each tool actually lets you farm.

Here is my quick tier rundown:

TierPickaxes
SEnchanted, Sci Fi, Celestial
AGalaxy, Cool, Secret, UFO, Hacker
BDemon, Crystal, Rainbow, Candy
CLightning, Cactus, Strawberry, Diamond
DGolden, Iron, Stone, Wooden

Keep in mind that “worst” does not mean useless — every pickaxe below S-Tier is a required stepping stone, and D-Tier tools are simply the ones you will replace within your first hour.

How Pickaxe Power Works in Break and Steal an Egg?

Every egg in the game has a health bar, and your pickaxe’s Power stat is the damage you deal per swing. The math is simple: the Hacker Pickaxe has 15M Power, so a 30M-HP egg breaks in exactly two hits. That is the entire calculation you need when deciding if an upgrade is worth it.

One thing I see players get wrong constantly: Power has nothing to do with running speed. Speed comes from Trails and treadmill training, and the two stats never replace each other. Since guards chase you the moment an egg breaks, less time spent swinging means fewer chances of getting caught mid-run. If you keep losing animals on the way back instead of failing to break eggs, buy a Trail rather than a pickaxe — my all trails in Break and Steal an Egg guide covers those costs.

Break and Steal an Egg Pickaxe Tier List Explained

I graded each tier on value at its stage of the game, not just the Power number. Here is why each tier earned its spot:

S-Tier: Enchanted, Sci Fi, Celestial

These three break every egg currently in the game. The Celestial Pickaxe (25B Power) handles Galaxy’s Secret eggs, while the Sci Fi (75B) and Enchanted (250B) cover the newest Void and Omega content. They cost $20Qa to $200Qa, so they are endgame purchases — but nothing else comes close to this damage ceiling.

A-Tier: Galaxy, Cool, Secret, UFO, Hacker

The late-game workhorses. The Hacker Pickaxe ($1.2T for 15M Power) is the smartest buy in this bracket, and the UFO Pickaxe gives you a 4x Power jump for 10x the price. The Cool Pickaxe (1B Power) is the strongest tool before Celestial-tier prices, so expect to live in this tier for a long stretch.

B-Tier: Demon, Crystal, Rainbow, Candy

Solid mid-game value with fair cost-to-power ratios. The Rainbow Pickaxe (250K Power for $2.8B) carries you through Mythic egg zones, and the Crystal Pickaxe is your first 1M-Power milestone. None of these will impress you at endgame, but each one is the right answer for its price bracket.

C-Tier: Lightning, Cactus, Strawberry, Diamond

Cheap, effective stepping stones. The Diamond Pickaxe ($160K) and Strawberry Pickaxe ($1.2M) bridge the gap into zones where the Golden Pickaxe starts struggling. You will cycle through all four within a few hours of active play.

D-Tier: Golden, Iron, Stone, Wooden

First-hour tools only. The Stone Pickaxe ($80) and Iron Pickaxe ($800) are the two purchases I recommend immediately, since early upgrades here cost pocket change. The Golden Pickaxe (60 Power) is the only one worth keeping longer, as it handles every Desert egg comfortably.

Best Pickaxe for Each Zone

Zones gate themselves by Speed, but your pickaxe decides whether the eggs inside are worth touching. Use this pairing table as a planning target, not a hard rule:

ZoneSpeed GateEgg RarityPickaxe Range

The tenth biome (Void/Omega rarity, teased in the October 11 event) is where the Sci Fi and Enchanted Pickaxes belong, and I will update this table once its Speed gate is confirmed.

How to Buy Pickaxes in Break and Steal an Egg?

  1. Head to the Pickaxe Shop in the Safe Zone, next to the Animal Merging machine on the left side of spawn.
  2. Browse the rack and find the pickaxe you can afford.
  3. Click the price tag below the pickaxe to buy it.
  4. Equip it before heading back out — an unequipped purchase does nothing.

Pro Tips: When to Upgrade Your Pickaxe

  • Diagnose your failure first. If eggs take too long to break, buy the next pickaxe. If animals escape on the run home, buy a Trail instead. They compete for the same Cash.
  • Do not hoard for a big jump. Cost per Power worsens as you climb — early upgrades cost $20–$333 per Power point, while endgame ones cost hundreds of thousands. Steady, affordable upgrades beat saving forever.
  • Farm Admin Abuse events with your best tool. Eggs take reduced HP during the Sunday events, so even a mid-tier pickaxe punches far above its weight for an hour.
  • Chase Titanic Eggs. They spawn on a 30-minute timer with huge HP pools, and whoever has the highest Power wins the shell.
